Keeping with the tradition of the Institute in offering new areas of specialization in engineering, the Department of Information Technology is proposed to be instituted in the academic session 2009 - 2010 with the objective of imparting knowledge in cutting-edge technologies in Information Technology and Computer Sciences.

All the members of SIETians share the belief that IT is a tool, if used effectively can improve the quality of all activities being carried out. As a first step, a project to automate all administrative activities has been taken up and the entire project is being done using the services of our department staffs. The program provides the education and training to meet the goals and objectives of Information Technology and computing profession.

Dept. of Information Technology offers intensive exposure to latest technologies including e-commerce, multimedia etc. the labs are equipped with latest computer systems & servers in support to the course structure.
